Adaptations and Equipment

We are able to help people with a wide range of conditions including acquired brain injury e.g. stroke, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, general loss of mobility and strength due to age or injury. We are also able to assess children with a wide range of neurological or physical conditions such as cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy.
There is now a wide range of equipment available to enable people to become more independent. However, there is so much choice that it can be difficult to know what will meet your needs. Are you considering purchasing new or second hand specialist equipment but aren't sure if it will meet your needs? We offer an initial assessment and can advise on what equipment would be most suitable.
For children’s equipment we are able to offer a full assessment and liaise with company reps if required. We also offer an optional discounted 6 monthly review to monitor the fit of the equipment and make adjustments as required as children do have a tendency to grow!
Specialist Equipment
There are many companies offering services to complete home adaptations such as wet rooms and accessible kitchens. These companies have a very good knowledge of their products but can lack the understanding of a client’s individual needs resulting from their condition or impairment. As a result many people spend significant amounts of money on adaptations only to discover that they do not fully meet their needs and they are not able to achieve their aspirations.
As a qualified Occupational Therapist with significant experience I am able to fully assess your individual requirements and your goals and match this to the products available and formulate an adaptation plan that will meet your needs both immediately and in the future. This is especially important if you are planning adaptations to accommodate your child’s needs as their needs are likely to change as they grow.
